Hydrangea’s, Hostas , and more. Deer loveeeee our plants where we live and i’ll be damned if they eat my new hydrangeas! The worst is when you go to bed with a garden full of beautiful thriving plants only to wake up to stubs. I would just die and we have some hungry deer with nursing babies around here, so they may even eat plants they don’t typically like.

Our Peonies became stubs overnight UGH. Luckily their blooming season is over, so I am not too bent out of shape about it, but had they not bloomed yet I would have been devastated! Typically the deer have left these alone, so we didn’t bother with the tools listed below on this particular plant. Another couple of things to note is that I have Peonies closer to the house near one of our Solar Powered Animal Pest Repellers and it was not touched! To me that means these work well. We also have another plant near the Peony that deer love, but I had spayed it with our Liquid Fence and they did not touch that either. Woop woop…. things are working and now I know to spray my Peonies next year. Trial and error has been my friend in situations like these!
Below I have listed the items we have tested that seem to be working well. Not only for deer, but some other little fuzzy babies too!
Ultrasonic Solar Animal Repellent:

Originally we bought these because we had a vole problem, but ultimately I think it is protecting our plants from everything. It projects a high pitched beep (this is annoying at first, but you get used to it) and it also has a red light. So far my lovely plants where these are located have not been touched by the deer and the voles have gone away. We did notice the voles came back for a little bit, but they eventually went away again.
Liquid Fence Deer & Rabbit Repellent:

Specifically for the deer we bought this. It seems to work wonders. We spray it on our plants just about every 3 to 4 weeks during a dry period. I spray it around the plants and directly on them. It sure is stinky so be ready for a gross smell, but I personally would do anything to protect my plants!
I hope these tools we’ve found help us can help you and your garden thrive throughout the seasons! Leave me comments below on what has helped you!
